This was a little experiment I did with Alchemy this evening. I realize this looks alot like Numiohs work. [link] He posted a walkthrough recently [link] on doing mechs in Alchemy then painting them in Photoshop. Had a freakin blast doing this and it has my head spinning with ideas, so next time I will do something a bit more original!.... I was just so happy with the outcome, I just had to post it.
Nice, it's got your rough style to it. Maybe I should check out this alchemy thingy.
What is this alchemy ? That looks cool and a fun tutorial to read.
Nice one dude, I like the symetry you got going on here..
Thanks man! You should give Alchemy a try. Great way to skecth up some thumbnails REAL quick.
Fantastic work. I have to ask, how did you mirror some of the parts? I have no idea how to do that in any program.
Thanks for the compliment! It is actually really easy to mirror those parts. After I did the quick sketch in Alchemy I actually only painted the left half of the droid in Photoshop. After doing that I used the marquee tool and cut him in half, only selecting the painted half. I then copied that section into a new layer and then flipped it horizontally to make it a "right side", then merged the two together. After that I used the lasso tool and moved the right arm a little bit painted in one of the hoses a bit differently and called it good. Hope this makes sense and if you have any other questions send me a note here on DA buddy.
thats very cool, experiment more!
